Originally designed as a church, the Panthéon became a secular building during the French revolution and now serves as a tomb for the most respected French people. Men (and women) like Voltaire, Rousseau or the Curies are buried here. Therefore the name of the building is quite fitting.

I guess for a French to be buried in the Panthéon must be something of an achievement.
