Smashing Mantis Shrimp, Trawangan Slope
Smashing mantis shrimp. Here you can see how its eyes work ... remember that this beast has complex eyes (bug-eyes), it does not have pupils! What looks like a pupil are those facets of the complex eye that happen to look into the camera ... you see it's looking at us with the right eye, and it has trinocular vision on the right eye alone! The left eye is looking somewhere else, and it has us only in the periphery, with binocular vision.
